La Piragua - Anaerobic Natural Colombia

La Piragua is a coffee farm in Huila, Colombia owned and operated by the Vargas family.  This Anaerobic Natural lot has light and bright acidity rounded out by intense sweetness making it a fun option for expressive pour overs and flash brews.

Beyond producing incredible coffee from their farm, La Piragua serves as a hub for neighboring coffee growers who do not have wet mills at their farms.  Arley Vargas and his father Alexander work diligently to produce coffee that is both excellent and sustainable.  The Vargas family implements regenerative farming practices and employs women to handle the bulk of cherry selection and harvesting making coffee farming an essential role in their local community.
